spring is here and mullymusic is releasing a new song !

the song is called "it's going to change" and began as a quirky little instrumental idea but quickly manifested into this whole other entity, steamrolling along and haunting me until it's completion.

the lyrics were inspired by itgetsbetter.org which in case you were unaware, is a non-profit whose contributions benefit the "it gets better project" and "the trevor project".

itgetsbetter.org is a website whose goal is to prevent suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth (lgbtq) by having adults convey the message that these teens' lives will improve. they currently have more than 30,000 video entries from people of all sexual orientations, including many celebrities.

thetrevorproject.org is the leading national organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among lgbtq youth through their toll-free "the trevor lifeline", a 24-hour confidential service that offers trained counselors. they also provide guidance and vital resources to parents and educators in order to foster safe, accepting and inclusive environments for all youth, at home and at school.

the message of my lyrics is directed to anyone that is feeling in crisis. that no matter how bad things might seem right now, they will change and get better, you just have to give it the time needed for that to happen.

my intent is to offer this song to itgetsbetter.org for their website and other endeavors. they can offer it for free or to solicit donations.

i'm also offering it on my website for free and encouraging donations. the song is also available at itunes for purchase. 50% of all the proceeds go to itgetsbetter.org.

please take a moment and listen to the song. encourage your friends to give it a listen as well. it could be just what they or one of their friends need to get through a rough patch.

it's 2012 and it's time to kick off another monthly series of releases here at mullymusic headquarters. for the next 3 years (provided the mayans had it wrong, of course,) mullymusic will be releasing alternate mixes of the 36 songs from the original single of the month club collection. these releases will be on the last tuesday of each month starting january 31, 2012 and concluding in december 2014.

these alt mixes give a bit of a different perspective on the original releases. most will be just vocals & keyboards, but there are a few surprises along the way as well.

the first of the bunch is called "already gone" and you can hear it on my website here....
